Bridges DVC Services

Bridges Domestic Violence Center is dedicated to providing a safe pathway to independence. We understand that leaving an abusive situation can be complicated, difficult, and sometimes dangerous. Through our team of highly skilled domestic violence advocates, we ensure safe, emergency shelter, as well as resources to support long-term goals of healing, safety, and self-sufficiency for domestic victims, survivors, and their loved ones.

All domestic violence services are offered in the strictest of confidence. Thanks to generous donations of financial support, we are able to offer the following services free of charge.

Our Mission:

Bridges Domestic Violence Center serves women, men, and their children affected by domestic violence, ensuring a safe transition to successful independent living through education, intervention, and case management.

Temporary Shelter

Our temporary shelter offers immediate safety and comfortable housing for anyone experiencing violence in their home. We provide a compassionate environment with meals and basic needs, as well as assistance to help victims and survivors recover from trauma and regain self-sufficiency.

Crisis Intervention

Through our 24-hour crisis hotline, we provide a judgment-free space to assess and assist in emergency situations. Our crisis intervention team understands that each person’s immediate needs are different and makes every attempt to meet those individual needs in a timely and supportive manner.

Our Crisis Intervention team responds upon request, alongside our local law enforcement, at the scene of the assault. The victim will receive immediate intervention and options for the next steps to move forward.

We understand that navigating the legal system can be challenging. Our experienced domestic abuse court advocates are dedicated to helping victims and survivors of domestic violence through these difficult proceedings. We provide education, referrals, assistance, and accompaniment to ensure clear guidance and companionship throughout the entire legal process.

Community Awareness

Did you know that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner, according to the National Coalition of Domestic Violence? Part of our mission at Bridges Domestic Violence Center is to raise awareness for domestic abuse in our community. Through strategic efforts, we strive to inform and educate our neighbors on the ways they can help support victims and survivors, as well as receive support if they are experiencing violence.

Outreach Advocacy (bi-lingual Spanish)

Our outreach advocacy program is designed to empower victims and survivors of domestic violence. Through education, planning, and support, we help individuals and families reach their long-term goals to live a life free from fear and danger. Bi-lingual Spanish-speaking advocates are available.

Batterer’s Intervention

Designed to first promote survivor safety, our batterer’s intervention program works to change the offenders thinking and behavior by holding them solely responsible for their actions. We give the participants tools to have healthy relationships with everyone in their lives by providing skills for nonviolence conflict resolution skills through education.

Support Groups

Our domestic violence support groups give a safe and caring environment for victims and survivors of abusive relationships. These groups provide an encouraging space for healing and personal growth so no one has to face their trauma alone.

Fur Babies Too

We believe victims of domestic violence should never have to choose between their pets and their own safety. As an integral part of many people’s healing and support system, we provide resources and accommodations to make sure no one has to be separated from their furry companion.

Community Resources

For needs outside of our area of expertise, we will refer victims and survivors to reputable organizations in our community that can provide assistance.
